Speaker: Newell Highsmith (Larry’s longtime neighbor), Deputy Legal  Advisor-State Department. Newell was a member of the U.S. team negotiating the Iran Treaty and travelled over 200,000 miles in the last year for sessions. He will give us his insight into the process. In the past he was part of the team for talks with North Korea (1994-95) and the Indian Nuclear Cooperation Agreement (2008). Contact St. Peter’s for more information. ALL are welcome!

Fall Campout!  Calling All Fathers With Children 5th Grade and Younger!

Families with children fifth grade and below are formally invited to have their fathers and children attend the Cornerstones Committee campout at St. Peter’s on Saturday, October 17th. The campout will be on church grounds and will begin at 4:00 PM. A bonfire, chili, fixings for s’mores, hot dogs, and cider will be provided for dinner. Juice and donuts will be provided for breakfast.

You are responsible for your bringing your own tents and camping gear. We look forward to seeing you for this fun-filled outdoor adventure!

 Help “Shout It From the Mountain”: October 18th

If you were a Shrine Mont camper, know a camper, or simply enjoy Shrine Mont, please join Lisa L. and Kirk Gibson, Shrine Mont’s Director of Development, on Sunday October 18 from 4-6pm in the Parish Hall. Enjoy some refreshments, share some camp memories, and hear the latest news from the Mountain. All are invited, we just ask you to RSVP by Friday the 16th to St. Peter’s  so we may plan the goodies accordingly.

There is a saying you’ve heard before, “many hands make light work” and many hands are needed to make our yard sale a success. This will be open to the wider Arlington and surrounding area communities and help is needed to make this all happen. Please take a moment to fill out this form to let us know how and when you can help. Just even an hour of your time makes things run smoother.

Sent To Serve: Poverty in Arlington

Mission Commission invites you to an evening forum on the topic of poverty in our own backyard. Sunday, October 25, 2015, 6:00-8:30 PM in the parish hall. Program will start with a sandwich supper. Presenters are from Arlington Street People’s Assistance Network (ASPAN), Arlington Thrive, Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC), and Bridges to  Independence.
