Diaper Drive
February 9 to February 16
–– Serving Others
This Valentine’s Day, you can provide little ones in Arlington some Luvs (or Pampers or Huggies or any brand of diapers). Saint Peter’s is hosting a diaper drive on behalf of Casa Mariflor, an Arlington-based network that provides donated food, diapers, and other resources to the local immigrant community.
Saint Peter’s will be collecting diapers and wipes from Sunday, February 9, through Sunday, February 16. Please pick up diapers or wipes when you’re grocery shopping to drop off at church during that time.
Casa Mariflor’s young families especially need help with diapers in sizes 4, 5 and 6 (about 18 months to three years old).
Clean diapers are a basic need of every baby and toddler—essential to their health and well-being. Keeping infants and toddlers clean, dry and healthy helps build the strong foundation all children require to reach their full potential. However, almost half of U.S. families with young children struggle to afford clean diapers for their baby. Nationally, 25% of parents miss work or school because they can’t afford the diapers required to leave their baby in childcare.* An average monthly supply of diapers costs $80 to more than $100. (Note: The nutrition programs SNAP and WIC administered by the Department of Agriculture cannot be used to purchase diapers.)
Thank you in advance for helping provide much needed items to babies in our Arlington community.
