Mapping the Civil War in Arlington
Overshadowed by the major battles that took place in 1862 and beyond, the military conflict in Arlington is a forgotten period of US history that is worthy of retrospect. Drawing on digital collections, including letters, diaries, drawings, regimental histories, and photographs, include many records associated with well-known landmarks in Arlington, like Upton’s Hill, Arlington Historical Society’s Vice President, Peter Vaselopulos will present on the fascinating history of Arlington during the Civil War and how it shaped the geography of the county. Lunch will be served.
