Christian Formation for Children

  • Babies - 3 years old

    The nursery is open from 8:45 Am - 11:45 AM and ready to welcome your young children. The nursery is downstairs in the Christian formation wing, staffed with caring attendants in a safe and nurturing environments for children.

  • 4 years - 1st Grade

    Children age 4 to 1st grade engage with Godly Play to help them explore their faith through story. Children gain religious language and enhance their spiritual experience though wonder and play, core principles of this approach to Christian formation

  • 2nd - 4th Grade

    Children in grades 2 through 4 explore key stories in the Bible with creativie projects that help children enter thu story of God and God’s people.

  • 5th-6th Grade

    Preteens connect with God’s big story through videos, Bible exploration, and hands-on projects. This class combines humor with teachings from the Bible and helps students build undestanding around key Bible themes.

  • Club 4/5

    Youth group is a great time for youth to gather and build community over food. Youth in grades 4 and 5 meet monthly on Sunday afternoons at 3:30 to 5:00 PM at the Church. Fall dates: September 15, October 20, and November 17.

  • Children's Chapel

    Children’s chapel is a time for children to make a holy space, hear and respond to God’s word, and pray together in their own place. Chapel begins at the gospel procession. Kids rejoin their parents at the passing of the peace.

  • Servant Ministry

    At St. Peter’s the youth and children are not just the future of the church, they are the church, and we invite them to serve as leaders in age appropriate ways. We make bagged lunches for the hungry and cards for the homebound for Christmas. As they grow they are invited to join in leading worship as acolytes, readers, ushers, and even as preachers.

  • The Family Table

    On the third Sunday of month from September through May families with young children gather at 5:00 p.m. for a brief worship and a simple meal for conversation and fellowship. It’s a great place to build community and learn. This worship service is especially appropriate for kids on the autism spectrum.
